I believe that having a doula is a way to build a support system and community around your birth. As a doula, I will be your companion to provide emotional aid and resources throughout your pregnancy and during your labor, from helping you guide your vision for your the birth to selecting details about the environment you’d like to be in while delivering to ensure that you feel taken care of and in control. I will attend to your psychological and spiritual needs by holding a safe space your experiences, assisting you to make informed, educated and evidence-based decisions about your needs, and supporting you to advocate for yourself with your medical care providers during prenatal visits and during your birth. I am highly organized, intuitive, and tender — I help parents untangle the planning that goes into the pregnancy timeline, allowing them to keep it simple so they can feel empowered and enjoy the process of welcoming a new child into the world.
I value self-expression, connection, and creativity, and serve clients from diverse backgrounds including queer and trans-parents-to-be, families in non-traditional relationship structures, as well as those of various faiths including 12 Step-based communities.
Being a doula allows me to combine my deep interests in helping others find their own voice and identify their needs, championing gender equality and a sex positivity, and building a more creative and inclusive world. I trained with Carriage House Birth, hold a BFA in painting from RISD, and am currently in school studying to become a midwife.
